Organic, minimalist stoneware bowls with a rounded edge and textured bottom.
"The obvara firing process, which originated in Baltics around the 12th Century, involves scalding the finish on the pottery to seal the porous surface. Similar to the raku pottery process, a bisqued pot is heated, in this case to 1650°F (899°C) and removed from the heat. The pot is then dipped into a specific yeast mixture before being dunked in water to rapidly cool the piece. The effects are quite stunning and unique to each piece."
Raku ceramics by their creative process and their very nature serve only for decorative purposes. Not intended for holding water or food. Still a fully functional and timeless addition to your daily rituals.
Perfect for special ritual space, for displaying jewellery, precious gems, for incense or sage smudge.
Gentle hand wash only.
Each one has unique pattern to it, images show the variation of the obvara patterns. There might be some yellow blushing on the edges.
